What’s in the Book

This book takes the script apart to find out what the reputation is made of: the restricted point of view that turns the audience into an accomplice, the setup-payoff lattice where a broke client in scene one becomes the escape plan in the final minutes, and the argument Towne and Polanski fought over — the ending itself.
